Washington D.C. Protest
On July 15th 2015 Partners for Responsible Trade organized a protest in front of the White House in Washington, D.C. The purpose of this demonstration was to give offshore factory workers a voice in international trade negotiations that will affect them. Rosa Moreno and Carlos Castro traveled from Reynosa Mexico to participate in the demonstration. Both Rosa and Carlos lost limbs making flat screen TVs in factories operated along the border in Mexico. The products they made were sold in the US market. Rosa and Carlos want consumers to be aware of conditions in the factories where their products are made. They hoped to be able to give factory workers everywhere a voice and a presence in the global conscience.
