Trip to Reynosa, Rio Bravo, and Brownsville October 2014

During our most recent visit to the Rio Grande Valley we visited Reynosa, Rio Bravo, as well as Brownsville. We were interviewed by Channel 23 news KVEO about our organization and Hands United on the Border. You can read the interview at http://www.kveo.com/news/hands-united-border-awareness-factory-workers-mexico. We also did an interview with The Brownsville Herald. We are trying to get media coverage about the situation in the factories during these interviews.

We also met with workers and promotoras in Reynosa. We discussed issues in the factories, accidents, and other problems the workers face. We handed out information for Hands United on the Border so that the promotoras can organize groups.

In Rio Bravo, we met with workers and promotoras as well. We discussed issues in the factories and learned of several other accidents that occured in the same factory where Rosa Moreno was injured. We also met with our Program Director for Hands United on the Border Mexico, Abril Martinez. Abril has been busy organizing large groups in Rio Bravo for the event.
