Visit to Reynosa and Rio Bravo Mexico August 2014

In August we visited the factory workers and Promotoras in Reynosa and Rio Bravo to deliver grants for our Sunrise Fund. We were able to sponsor 17 children of factory workers to pay for tuition, books, supplies, and uniforms for primary school, secondary school, and high school. This is part of our important initiative that focuses on keeping the children of factory workers in school through high school when their parents cannot afford to.

We also kicked off our Hands United Along the Border project by delivering flyers, sign up sheets, and information to the Promotoras about the event. The promotoras will utilize these tools to begin organizing workers to join in the event on May 1st 2015. This event will help to raise awareness about working conditions, wages, safety concerns, and environmental contamination associated with international factories operating around the world.
